Spring has sprung. A new season is here, some life has returned to the world. Lockdown is beginning to ease, and there’s a small chance that life may just return to something that resembles normality by June.
So, naturally, we’ve decided it’s time to try something a bit new! Spring is the time for fresh starts so that’s our plan.
For those of you that don’t know Flicknife, what we’re after are artists or performers and bands who have been cast aside: Ever been told you weren’t mainstream enough to succeed? Play a niche genre, and keep getting told to try something more commercial? Are you a long-time proponent of the weird and wonderful? Do you play shoegaze, space-rock or anything a little bit... experimental?
Then friend, we want you!

But don’t worry, good people! That’s not all we have for you. Over the past few months, we’ve been working with some amazing new acts and we have two of the best to introduce to you now!
First up, when he heard this album, it gave off some real "DOREMI" energy. And if you know us, you know that’s high praise! Introducing: PARADISE 9! With their excellent album "Science Fiction Reality" (SHARPCD21118).
This will be with you 23rd April 2021. This album will be available on CD and digital download, from all the usual suspects. But you will be able to pre-order from us well before its release date! Bear in mind, this is a limited run that will be coming with a lyric sheet/poster, so get your orders in ASAP or be disappointed! Once they’re gone, they’re GONE.
And finally, also an April baby (just like our overlord, Frenchy!) meet Redhead. Redhead are not the typical Flicknife alum... in as much as they’re a fairly poppy hard rock band. But their addictive hooks and unforgettable riffs won us over. The album ""Broken Hourglass" (SHARPCD21119) will have ten brand new tracks of unadulterated rock candy. It can be in your hands 30th of April 2021, available from all the usual spots. Once again, you’ll be able to order this well in advance from our store. Much like Paradise 9 above, this is also a limited run, so make sure to get your orders in sharpish!
How’s that for a bumper helping of audio goodness? Two great new albums to add to your collection and the prospect of a sure to be legendary compilation that might just feature you, fair and loyal reader!
