HEY FLICKERS!

Here at Flicknife Records, we've always embraced new technology, especially once it's been around a while and we're sure it's not going to implode! As such, a while back we created a YouTube channel, to showcase our excellent bands and the legendary tracks they produce.

We then totally forgot to put any songs on, because while we DO embrace emergent technology we also tend to get distracted by shiny things... oooh, shiny shiny!

But all that has changed now, and we will be updating the channel regularly with a selection of our finest tracks for your listening pleasure, feel free to subscribe!

While we're on the subject of digital music, don't forget our digital releases! It's the quickest (and easiest) way to get the tracks from OUR bands to YOUR ears!

Welcome back from the festive season.  Hope the hangovers have worn off by now and your 2018 is going well.  We've not been slacking here at the Flicknife Lair and BOY, do we have some amazing releases coming soon for you!

December is here and Coke are running the adverts with the truck that everyone loves, so that can only mean one thing... The festive season has officially begun!

It's been a tough old year. Everyone is struggling, money is running low, costs are getting higher and independent music makers around the world have really been feeling the strain. We just wanted to let you know, it was a close thing at times, but we live to fight another year... which is all you can really ask for! With this in mind, we wanted to take this chance to say a HUGE thanks to all the fans that have stuck by us and our bands. It means more than I can put into words to us to know that even when times are as hard as they are right now for everyone, people will still keep rocking on! So I promise, if you keep listening, we'll keep putting out tracks.

Sappy stuff out of the way, we wanted to celebrate out latest excellent release AND show our love to the fans in one fell swoop...

And what better way to do that than with a COMPETITION!!

Just a quick PSA blog this time round. Figured you'd want an update on some of the awesome new acts and their latest releases...

We're mixing things up a little this week. I've been given free rein to choose the topic for the blog, and narrowed it down to three:

First off the bat, a bit of an update from a previous blog! Our new label "RNG Records" has undergone a facelift, and is now titled "FNG Records". The concept is the same, the music will still be excellent, and we'll still be epic, we just changed one of the letters! It looks cooler this way.

Now, back on topic...

We figured we'd do a nice light blog this month, seeing as the world is going to hell in a hand-basket...

And thus, we present something no one has asked for....but I'm sure you're all just aching to know!

We've previously listed our favourite records released on Flicknife, and our favourite records we WISH we'd released... so what do we have next? Why, it's only our top five guilty pleasure tracks!

Those songs that many would be surprised to know have that special place, hidden deep in our hearts!

HEY FLICKERS!

We're back once again, renegade masters optional, and this time we have some VERY cool annoucements for you all!

By now, I'm sure you're all aware, but for those that aren't, the great SPIZZENERGI 7" single is available in stores, digital services and let us not forget, our own store! Fingers crossed you've already heard the single, or maybe even read about it (Vive Le Rock have a four page feature on Spizzenergi in Issue #44). If you've not heard it yet, check it out soon. It's awesome and the sleeve was designed by Mr Spizz himself, so that's pretty damn cool.

Next up, another release by Flicknife Old Boys, Morgellons. Titled "Morgellons" this Post-Punk epic has shades of The Buzzcocks, and just a hint of The Undertones, while still being VERY much their own album; this is in no small part due to the great guitar work of Josh Pinto, the solid basswork of Mark Geraghty, and the oh so familair vocals of young Vincent Mahon, all pushed forward by the driving drumwork of Mannie Zerafa. So keep an eye out for that, releasing in Mid May, catalogue number SHARPCD17087.

Next, some very exciting news: We want to welcome a new act to the Flicknife Family, Wills & The Willing, with their brilliant new album "Heroes and Villains". This album is going to be huge, so make sure to get in on the ground floor, and watch out for the awesome first single "Skin" with introduction by ex Chelsea FC stars Didier Drogba and Michael Essien: Carefree!! If you're as excited for this as we are, you'll be able to get your grubby little mits of this future classic towards the end of May.

Lastly, we are proud and excited to announce a new venture. A brand new label, RNG Productions!

RNG is the brainchild of former A-Ha Manager/Producer John Ratcliff and Flicknife/MG2MUSIC Founder/CEO Frenchy Gloder.

The aim of this label is to unearth new and exciting acts, nurturing them and raising them up to stardom, along with furthering the careers of existing and very exciting bands and artists. Each project that we pick up will eventually be licensed to a major for manufacturing, promotion and distribution. The first act likely to recieve the RNG treatment will be Wills & The Willing, so fingers crossed for that!

SO! That's the lot for now, we've got a few very exciting months coming up, and we can't wait to bring you all along for the ride. I hope you all enjoy the new releases and I hope you show RNG Productions the loyalty you've all shown Flicknife Records!

Happy New Year everyone! The festive season is over and 2017, possibly the last year before the world ends in a fiery apocalypse, has begun...
